According to Rakvere's historical name - Tarvanpea, a magnificent tarva statue was completed for the city's 700th birthday. The author of the statue is sculptor Tauno Kangro. The bronze sculpture is 7.1 meters long and 5 meters high with the base. The granite base contains all the names of the persons who donated for the statue.
Archaeological excavations provide evidence that such animals have once lived in Rakvere. Tarvas sculpture is also the sümbol of Rakvere and goes together with the city's slogan "Väge täis" ("Full of power").
According to the Chinese horoscope, the year 2021 is the year of the metal bull - use the opportunity and take a Picture WITH TARVAS!
